The icon to the left is a representation of an ancient Chinese scroll made of bamboo. The strips of bamboo were tied together and written on. Since Chinese is written from top to bottom and from right to left, they might appear backwards or otherwise rolled incorrectly, since we are used to reading from left to right.

The Chinese scholars were adamant about the quality of their writings and research. Many of the concepts we have today about academic integrity concerning research methods originate in the Confucian era. These practices were adopted as a means by which facts and claims could be checked for truth and accuracy.
